Stock Controller

Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing business is seeking a Stores Controller to take ownership of their stores function.

This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone with a strong background in stores and warehousing, who is now looking to take the next step into team leadership.

As Stores Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing stock levels, issuing materials, booking in deliveries, and maintaining an efficient and organised stores area. You’ll also supervise a small team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials to production.


🔧 Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record goods in/out using an ERP system; manage parts from external suppliers.

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against drawings and specifications.

  • Maintain stock records and ensure materials are stored and located correctly.

  • Pick and prepare kits for production based on job requirements.

  • Support and lead a store's team, promoting a safe, clean, and well-organised environment.

  • Assist with periodic stock checks and cycle counts.

  • Operate a forklift for loading/unloading when required (FLT licence desirable).


✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a stores, warehouse, or goods-in role within manufacturing or engineering.

  • Strong understanding of materials, components, and stock systems.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel.

  • Organised, methodical, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • A proactive, flexible approach with excellent attention to detail.

  • Previous experience leading or supervising a small team (preferred).

  • FLT licence advantageous but not essential.
